Congratulations to Taylor Arndt for completing the Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Brookings program! 🎉 Taylor shared that one of his favorite parts of the experience was connecting with people from across the Brookings business community. A highlight was also visiting Pierre for a Day at the Capitol—getting a closer look at how the legislature works. This experience helped Taylor grow as a leader, and those skills carry over into the work he does every day at Banner. We're proud to support opportunities like this that align with our values of being People Focused and promoting a Culture of Improvement. #EngineeringABetterCommunity #LeadershipBrookings

Before a single shovel hits the ground, our Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) team brings projects to life. These renderings turn engineering plans into clear, visual representations—helping clients, contractors, and communities better understand what’s coming. In the early days, renderings like the Aberdeen and Sioux Falls examples were done entirely by hand. Today, we use 3D technology to create even more detail and realism. While some visual details might seem playful, they’re often personalized nods to the site—like the tractor fertilizing the facility’s fields, or the SDSU Jacks game on in a recreation room. Curious to see more? We’ve shared additional images over on Instagram—and you never know what small detail might surprise you. 📸 Instagram: https://lnkd.in/gvDCk879 #EngineeringABetterCommunity

Celebrating 5 Years of Leadership with Leslie! This Sunday marks Leslie Murphy’s 5-year anniversary at Banner, and we’re proud to celebrate the leadership she brings to her role as head of our Environmental Department. Over the past five years, Leslie has taken on everything from permitting puzzles to fieldwork challenges—and she handles it all with professionalism, adaptability, and a steady presence. Her ability to create a transparent, supportive, and fun work environment has made a lasting impact on her team and the work we do. Even before taking on her leadership role, Leslie was investing in her future—completing the Leadership Pierre program to sharpen her skills. That same commitment to growth and team-building continues to shine today. Congratulations, Leslie—and thank you for five incredible years! #EngineeringABetterCommunity

Joe Munson, our Water Department Head, and Shawna Witt, our HR Director, recently attended the 2025 EOS Worldwide Conference in Washington, D.C. They spent time with our implementer, Joe Paulsen - Expert EOS Implementer®, and connected with other organizations running on EOS. The conference featured impactful breakout sessions on leadership, habit-building, AI, scorecards, and strategies to retain top talent—each packed with practical insights. We don’t just use EOS—we live it. After seven years, it continues to guide our culture, drive alignment, and help us grow with clarity and discipline. Bonus highlight: Shawna met Gino Wickman, the Visionary behind EOS—a memorable way to close out a great week! #EOS #EngineeringABetterCommunity #EOSConference2025

Banner’s Matthew Brua recently attended the 2025 American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Solutions Summit and Legislative Fly-In in Washington, D.C., where the newest Infrastructure Report Card was released. As a member of the ASCE Committee on America’s Infrastructure (CAI), Matthew plays a key role in shaping how the nation evaluates and addresses infrastructure priorities. The 2025 report raised the national grade to a C (up from C−), with 8 of 18 categories showing improvement—and, for the first time since 1998, no category received a D−. While these results mark progress, the report also highlights ongoing gaps and the continued need for investment and improvement across sectors. While in D.C., Matthew met with Representative Dusty Johnson, legislative staff for Senators John Thune and Mike Rounds, and other South Dakotans—including fellow SDSU graduates—to discuss how South Dakota’s infrastructure needs fit into broader national planning efforts. His involvement ensures rural voices are part of critical infrastructure conversations. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/ddZHyrB #EngineeringABetterCommunity #ASCE #CAI

Earlier this month, three of our engineers volunteered at Southeast Tech for Women in Science, an annual event that encourages middle school girls to explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. They presented on water and wastewater engineering and guided students through a hands-on water filter activity, reaching about 130 students throughout the day. Their time was supported through Banner’s paid Volunteer Time benefit, which empowers our team to give back to causes they care about. We’re proud to support events like this—and the employees who make them possible. #EngineeringABeterCommunity #WomenInSTEM #SoutheastTech

🔹 Why Precast Construction is a Smart Choice 🔹 For decades, Banner has leveraged precast construction to deliver efficient, durable, and cost-effective solutions for the communities we serve. Precast panels are fabricated off-site and installed rapidly on-site, helping essential buildings like fire stations, storm shelters, and water treatment facilities get built faster while keeping costs down. This means shorter construction timelines, reduced disruption, and lower long-term maintenance costs—key benefits for both public and private sector projects. This method also provides greater design flexibility, incorporating different textures, materials, and colors to meet aesthetic and functional needs. The Lewis & Clark Regional Water System project in Vermillion and our work with HDR on the Brookings Municipal Utilities Water Treatment Plant are great examples, showing how precast construction supports both infrastructure reliability and design innovation. #EngineeringABetterCommunity #PrecastConstruction #Architecture
