In a little #ThrowbackThursday action, we're sharing part of a corporate identity package we created for National Franchise Consultants and Accountants waaaaay back in 2011. Their association helps count and find profitability in a lot of french fries... and all the operations for franchise owners. #tbt Note the condiment colors and the bar chart made of fries. Yum!

Many thanks to the inimitable ??Eric Cook, MBA for the shout out on Martha Bartlett Piland, CFMP's new book, "Don't Just Brand There, Do Something," which will be available March 11. We always appreciate the deep insights and fun Eric brings to any financial marketing discussion. (Or any discussion, for that matter.) If you don't follow him, you should!
?? Recovering Banker ?? AI Advocate ???? Digital Marketer ?? Mastermind Mentor ?? Public Speaker ??? Podcast Host ??♂? Avid Cyclist #SocialBankers
I recently got a surprise in the mail. Martha Bartlett Piland, CFMP sent me an autographed copy of her latest book, "??????'?? ???????? ?????????? ??????????, ???? ??????????????????" and I can't wait to dig into it. ?? Martha is a class act - and if you're not following her, you need to. One recent example of her awesomeness is from our February #HappyHour live event last month. When kicking off the event, I asked what everyone wanted to talk about. In case you've never been on a Happy Hour, these are not structured or "agenda-driven." They are about whoever shows up and ???????? ???????? ???????? ???? ???????? ??????????. That being said, she immediately turned the tables and prompted me to chat about our recent award and the nice recognition our team received from the International Franchise Association. That was so sweet - and quite unexpected. ??♂? Of course after I shared the news, I flipped the script on her and we spent the next several minutes ?????????????? ?????????? ?????? ?????? ???????? - yup, the one in that picture, which is teed up for my next read. As you plan for your next week, what's something that YOU can do to put someone else first and make their day? ?? Send them a book you think they'll like (even if you didn't write it). ?? Write a handwritten note and drop it in the mail. ?? DM a random connection to tell them how they have impacted you. ?? Or pick up the phone to actually tell them... And thank you, Martha, for thinking of me and making my day. ??

Tightwad Bank. Yes, it was legit (but they are no longer in operation). See this post from Martha Bartlett Piland, CFMP for some ways to think about such a unique #financialbrand. Thank you, Alexandra Goodpasture Reilly, CFMP for finding this interesting bank. https://lnkd.in/gZ4SGb_J

My colleague just alerted me to Tightwad Bank. At first, I thought it was fake, but it was a real bank in Missouri (no longer in business). It's named after the town, but I see so many #branding opportunities with a name like this. They could play off the negative moniker and turn it into a positive. ?? We respect people who are frugal and we'll help them maximize their money. ?? We can help people avoid being penny-wise and pound-foolish with the right kind of counsel. ?? We can help rehab those spendthrift types and guide them to a more successful financial future. They could also: ?? Have a lot of fun with Scrooge at Christmas time on socials. ?? Offer free coffee to the people who come into the branch with a refillable cup (I.e. we'd never spend $5 on a double mochaccino latté with heavy cream and extra foam.) ?? A memorable social media hashtag #tightwad ?? Join the Tightwad Club ?? Plus, the PR opportunities are endless... What would you do with a bank like this? What do hamsters and bankers have in common? That's a question answered by Martha Bartlett Piland, CFMP in her book Beyond Sticky published in 2019. #ThrowbackThursday Her next book will be out in March, but Beyond Sticky is still very relevant for banks and credit unions finding themselves in commodity brand positioning.
