Here's something you might not know about feather flags: They’re a game-changer for paving crews. These flags not only improve efficiency but also enhance visibility on job sites. Thanks to Paving Project Superintendent Victor Shannon for the idea, we quickly implemented these flags across our day and night paving crews. They’ve already made a significant impact and had a lot of positive feedback from some of the team. Here’s what some of them had to share: Commercial Paving Field Manager Zach Sizemore: "They've been helpful in certain scenarios, especially when two crews work on the same property. It's important for both efficiency and design to ensure the correct material goes to the correct crews. They're also extremely helpful on projects where entrances are more difficult for trucks to find." Logistics Manager Savannah Hathaway: "They are wonderful! Extremely helpful, especially when two crews are on the same job." Paving Foreman Henry Ford: "They are great—I love it. It stands out for the trucks." Have other ideas? Our Banks team and Quality Control Division Manager Randy Funderburg are so proud of Philip Brooks getting the Inertial Profiler Certification through NCAT (National Center for Asphalt Technologies). Philip has been at Banks for over 13 years and is always so knowledgeable and willing to teach and share all that he knows from his time in Quality Control. This is Kadian Downer. He's a paving technician on one of our night crews. Kadian's originally from Jamaica and moved to the U.S. in 2013. He lived in New Orleans for a while but then came to SC and liked it. He has one child and when he isn't working at night, he's installing privacy fences. He's been on our Banks team since March of this year, and along with liking SC so far, he likes working with our Banks team too. Something fun about Kadian is that he dressed up as the Mask for Halloween this year - you know that character that Jim Carrey played. ?? Thanks for choosing Banks, Kadian!
