At Bank of Burlington, our team culture is at the root of all we do! To celebrate #EmployeeAppreciationDay and #InternationalWomen’sDay, we treated our team to delicious cookies from Klinger’s Bakery, one of many local #Vermont businesses we’re proud to support. We believe in uplifting our employees, recognizing their hard work, and strengthening our community—whether that’s through the amazing women on our team, the businesses that make Vermont special, or the culture of appreciation we strive to build every day. ? Here’s to our incredible team, the power of #community, and, of course, some well-deserved sweet treats!?? ??

Yesterday, six of our incredible team members had the opportunity to immerse themselves in a day of learning, leadership, and inspiration at the 2025 Women in Leadership Conference, hosted by the Vermont Bankers Association, Inc. Association and VERMONT RMA CHAPTER INC, in our lovely state capital of Montpelier. The event began with Congresswoman Becca Balint, who shared her insights on what defines a great leader and how she has continually evolved her own leadership mindset. Her reflections set the stage for a powerful lineup of speakers, reinforcing a key theme throughout the day: leadership isn’t something we’re simply born with—it’s something we actively cultivate. From exploring what makes an effective leader with Moriah Maron of Smith & Wilkinson to embracing the realities of work-life imbalance with Dr. Cristy Beemer, the discussions reinforced that leadership begins with the individual but thrives through collective growth. In a fireside chat, banking executives Caroline Carpenter and Josephine Moran, shared insights on taking ownership of one’s career path while also addressing the challenges businesses face in hiring and retention. Building on these insights, Dr. Kylie Bragdon, offered a unique perspective on transformative leadership, using lessons from lobstering to highlight the power of adaptability and the clear, effective strategies needed to cultivate strong, sustainable teams in the face of ongoing challenges. Lora McCray led a critical discussion on the evolving DEI landscape. To close the day, Beth White and her incredible team with Habitat For Aviation shared their stories during an empowering session on breaking barriers in male-dominated fields. ? Our team walked away inspired, motivated, and more equipped to lead with confidence. Investing in opportunities like this strengthens not just our individual growth, but also the future of our organization. Here’s to empowering women, fostering leadership, and continuing to make an impact here in our beautiful state of Vermont!
