Don’t miss this week’s free webinar with Steven Reider from Bancography. Register here: https://lnkd.in/g8pP7YD9 Choosing the right location for a branch is a big decision for any bank or credit union. It’s about more than just convenience—branches are a way to connect with the community, support local needs, and, for banks, meet CRA requirements. But opening and maintaining a branch in low-income neighborhoods can be tough. It’s often difficult to make a branch profitable in these areas, even though the need for access to financial services is high. In this webinar, Steven will explore branch service models that make a real difference in lower-income communities, both in cities and rural areas. Discover practical approaches to building branches that serve not only as places to bank, but as spaces that spark local investment and community involvement. Whether you're with a bank or credit union, you'll leave with tools and insights to help you create branches that work financially and foster stronger, more connected communities. The ABA has approved this webinar for 1.25 CERP, CFMP, and CRCM credits. #community #banks #creditunions #financialinstitutions

BAI's Rachel Koning Beals recently interviewed Kimberly Clay about smarter omnichannel marketing and the role of the branch. "With the growth of digital reliance, customer dissatisfaction is on the rise. It is crucial in the new account opening process for the customer to understand how to set up and navigate online and mobile banking. Too often this is not the case, and the customer blames the banker and institution for a poor system or inadequate employee training," states Clay. Since the introduction of the first ATMs in the late 1960s, banking industry pundits have predicted the demise of the retail branch. These predictions surged with the rise of the Internet, the 2008 financial crisis and the COVID pandemic, which pushed consumers toward digital channels. However, recent studies by the #FederalReserve, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and more show that branch presence remains crucial for choosing a financial provider. The branch exists to deliver advice to consumers and small businesses as to how best to address their financial needs and deepen customer relationships.
