On the 4th of July I steamed up these Key West Pink shrimp and brought them to the sandbar with us. Ya'll know that we have tried just about every shrimp under the sun, and if you ask me KW Pinks are without a doubt my favorite. I brought more than we needed and as I spread them around to the folks around us I was blown away by how many people from Florida (particularly a demographic that boats and is out at a sandbar on 4th of July!) had never tried Key West Pinks, or noted that they had not tried them in a while. If you are a consumer, seek out wild-caught Product of USA shrimp (particularly KW Pinks!). The flavor and texture is simply better than farm-raised shrimp. If your favorite retailer or restaurant doesn't have them, ask for them! If you are a buyer reading this, get wild-caught Product of USA shrimp in front of your customers! Promote it and support American fisherman! So that's my rant for this Independence Day. We should all be thankful for the bounty that our Nation's oceans provide. No better way to show our thanks than by purchasing American seafood this summer!
