Our fiscal sponsor, Fusion Partnerships, is dissolving, which means we must act fast to secure BYA’s future. To do this, we are raising $60,000 to cover essential operating costs while moving to a new fiscal sponsor and taking the necessary steps to become an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Baltimore Youth Arts is excited to begin working with Uplift Alliance (UA) as we embark on this new chapter of our program. Alongside UA, BYA will work to strengthen our policies and procedures so that we are better prepared to become an independent organization in the future. Funding Timeline Our goal is to raise $25,000 by March 11, 2025, to cover immediate operational needs and ensure our programs continue without disruption. We aim to reach our full goal of $60,000 by April 1, 2025, securing the resources needed for a smooth transition to a new fiscal sponsor and setting the foundation for long-term sustainability. This funding will allow us to: ?? Continue our programs for youth across BYA programs ?? Assess our long-term options as we transition to a new fiscal sponsor and prepare to become an independent 501c3 ?? Ensure a smooth transition so BYA can keep serving youth without disruption How You Can Help ?? Donate Today – Every dollar helps us keep our programs going! If able, consider becoming a monthly donor. ?? Spread the Word – Share this campaign with your network. ?? Host a Fundraiser – Get creative, rally support, and work with BYA youth and staff! Your support means everything to us! Together, we can ensure BYA continues empowering young people through the arts. https://lnkd.in/dhw-tSKA

Funding for the arts in Maryland is at risk. The arts are vast and deeply woven into every aspect of our lives. They inspire creativity, foster critical thinking, support social-emotional skill development, strengthen communities, and create spaces for connection and healing. For everyone who understands the immense need for, and transformative impact of, the arts, please read this post from Maryland Citizens for the Arts and speak up! We need support for the arts so much at this moment. ?? ?? ???? ?? ???? ?? ???? ?? ???? ?? Maryland Citizens for the Arts (MCA) needs your voice to protect the future of Maryland’s arts community. Governor Moore’s FY2026 Budget Reconciliation and Financing Act (BRFA) proposal includes a troubling recommendation to eliminate the Arts Stabilization Act (ASA), a 30-year-old funding formula that has safeguarded the Maryland State Arts Council's Funding and made Maryland a national leader in arts investment. Why This Matters: The ASA provides a stable foundation for Maryland’s arts sector, supporting nearly $13 billion in annual economic impact, over 80,000 jobs, and $7.3 billion in arts-worker compensation. This historic legislation ensures equitable funding across every county and Baltimore City, making the arts accessible to all Marylanders. Rescinding the ASA risks decades of progress and bipartisan support that has helped sustain a thriving and resilient arts ecosystem. Take Action Now: We urge you to contact your legislators and ask them to oppose this proposal. The ASA is essential to maintaining Maryland’s vibrant arts community and its significant contributions to our economy and quality of life.
Speak up for the arts! Hearings on the BRFA, which threatens our funding, are next week. House: 2/27 at 1 PM (Register by 2/25) Senate: 2/28 at noon (Register by 2/26) Learn how to submit a testimony or sign up to speak by clicking this link: https://lnkd.in/drhQSec8 Access MCA’s opposition letter here: https://lnkd.in/dqt5jmeU Let's keep Maryland’s arts thriving! #SayNoToBRFA #SaveTheArts #MdArts
