Functionality: These systems are designed to work seamlessly with existing traffic control systems, ensuring that emergency vehicles are granted priority at intersections with minimal disruption to traffic flow. Optical IR operates off an emitter type system, with ranges reaching up to 2000' of activation range. ? Stability: Known for their reliability, infrared optical preemption systems offer robust performance under various weather conditions and are less prone to interference than other types of communication-based systems, i.e. wireless/GPS signals. ?
