A big thank you to the Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department for inviting us to discuss the cooperative and electrical safety! Understanding the basics of electricity and how to stay safe around it is crucial, especially for first responders. We deeply appreciate the work these firefighters do not only for the community but for Baldwin EMC as well. We are grateful for the opportunity to help keep them safe!

Recently, some of our dedicated line crews underwent specialized training on insulating materials, known as “cover up.” Over the course of several days, these employees worked through proper techniques and applications of crucial safety tools like rubber blankets and line hoses. These materials play an essential role in protecting our crews while working with high-voltage electricity—a job that comes with inherent risks. Training is key to ensuring the safety of our crews, and we are incredibly grateful for their expertise and commitment to maintaining both power and safety.

Help us give a huge congratulations to our newest journeyman lineman, William Cloudas! This accomplishment is the highest level of training for line workers and it didn't happen overnight. It takes years of dedication and hard work to earn this title, and we couldn't be more proud! William is a valued co-worker who has been faithfully serving the members for years, and he is so easy to celebrate!
