Was feeling generous this morning, so offered free strategic advice to a “connect and pitch slap” solicitor. The irony is that the pitch slap was representing staffing services and asking to send over candidates for my hiring consideration. (Impersonal outreach to place people with a person and company this solicitor has never taken the time to know.) *Pro tip: Sales automation is like cocaine. It intensifies your personality. Especially if you’re an a**. —- “Hi, [name]. This is well written automated copy, so I’m going to respond and offer some free advice. If you want higher than fractional or single digit success rates that come with cold, automated, volume solicitation - take the time to identify those who are truly the best fit and then earn a relationship with them. When the time is right, you’ll be top of mind every time. Takes longer but retention and referrals/word of mouth are exponentially higher. As for my interest? I have an open for work badge on my profile (I’m unemployed) - Bald Commerce is new and a two-person side hustle (clear by the dates and skimmable recent posts). So, what does [name] the human think? Am I even a real prospect? Does my interest even matter? Based on my post history and clear POV on connecting only to pitch slap people - would I ever consider a call given not a single human conversation has taken place? If you’re really who you present yourself to be (and are mailing it in), or if this is a fake profile attempting to attract people with a face and winking smile emojis text …you’re part of the problem. If you’re genuinely trying to help people through forming intentional connections …do better and be part of the solution. Thanks.
