We recently signed a multi-year contract with Petrobras to provide fully integrated completions systems to optimize production in Brazil’s offshore fields. Through a joint technology development program with Petrobras, we are developing the definitive solution to one of the most important issues facing offshore production in Brazil—stress corrosion cracking due to CO2. This initiative aims to deliver next-generation flexible pipes with a 30-year lifespan in the high CO2 environments common in Brazil’s pre-salt fields. Spearheaded at our Rio de Janeiro Energy Technology Innovation Center, this collaborative effort will help Petrobras optimize production while supporting their commitment to reduce atmospheric emissions by reinjecting CO2 from their operations deep below the ocean floor.
