Early in the design process for this 138,000 sq-ft. addition to the Medical City complex in Plano, Texas, HCA Healthcare, their architect Perkins&Will, and general contractor JE Dunn Construction reached out to Baker Triangle for their expertise in prefabricated #exterior wall fabrication and installation. The design intent was to create similar aesthetics to the existing, adjacent structure by using prefabricated Sto Panel Classic NExT ci panels with a Stolit textured finish.
HCA Healthcare set an ambitious schedule, both in terms of speed of #construction and expectation of on-time completion. Late in project planning, the local municipality demanded aesthetic changes to the design, adding further complications for the design and construction team.
Fortunately, these are challenges Baker Triangle Prefab is well equipped to manage. Given their familiarity with the project, they proposed a combination of Sto Panel Dri-Design and Sto Panel Classic NExT ci panels, which created aesthetics that met everyone’s expectations. Panel installation was completed in only 30 days, exceeding schedule requirements. Overall, this LEED Silver project realized a cost savings of 8.9 percent and schedule savings of 6.7 percent through the use of various prefabricated assemblies, including 252 exterior Sto Panels.
