Bakelite President & CEO JP Aucoin and Director, Strategy and Regulatory Affairs Jesse Neese recently participated in a roundtable organized by the Department of Defense (DoD) and NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. The discussion centered on ensuring resilience and transparency in chemical supply chains, including mitigating supply chain risks due to dynamic market responses from emerging regulations. The roundtable aimed to enhance knowledge-sharing, identify best practices, advance supply chain resilience initiatives, while gaining a broader understanding of the chemical supply chain that supports defense, space, and critical infrastructure needs. This Women's History Month, we honor Michaela Johnson, a trailblazer in synthetic chemistry. Michaela joined Bakelite in Germany through an apprenticeship program and has been with the company for almost 40 years, holding various roles. Currently a Senior Commercial Product Line Manager, she reflects on her journey: "So many people at Bakelite have mentored me throughout my career. Everyone here is a team player and wants to see their team members succeed and grow. My biggest personal accomplishment is raising my son, who is now an Air Force pilot. Professionally, I'm proud of developing our TDS database and product naming convention." Her advice to women at Bakelite: "Go with your passion, always put your best foot forward, and never stop learning. Be open to opportunities and remember you have many supporters here."
