Happy new week ! Many of us grew up without guidance on menstrual health management, healthy relationships, and personal grooming. As a firstborn, I had to teach myself these essential life skills while also guiding my younger sisters. In many households, discussions around menstruation and relationships were avoided, leaving young girls to learn from peers or school. On Saturday, I had the privilege of engaging with 150 women from Githurai, this was made possible by Bahari Sisters Inc. we unpacked the gaps in menstrual health education and personal care. Many women admitted they were never taught these topics and, as a result, struggled to pass the knowledge to their children. It was a powerful moment of reflection and learning as we addressed questions on menstrual health management, irregular periods, personal hygiene, and open conversations about sexual health. This impactful session was made possible through a partnership with Vicki Jones from the USA, who traveled miles to be with us, and as the ambassador of AFRIpads Kenya, I emphasized the benefits of reusable pads in an economy where affordability matters. Collaboration and partnerships remain key in driving change, breaking generational barriers, and ensuring that future generations grow up informed, empowered, and confident. #DignityIsTheRightToChoose

Bahari in partnership with AFRIpads held its 2nd Annual Menstrual Health Forum on Saturday Feb 15 in Nairobi's Githurai community. 150 women were invited to the forum where they received menstrual health information in a lively discussion from AFRIpads Representative Brenda Alywani. Audrey Ochieng & Catherine Muturi also spoke to the ladies and demonstrated the correct way to use the product. We were at capacity. There was a line of women who wanted to attend.
