These programs are statutorily required to receive a percentage of federal R&D budgets (3.2% for agencies with over $100M in R&D). Despite all the noise about funding cuts, grant funding is still going strong. If you disagree please comment with any credible source that shows that grant funding to innovative startups/small businesses are being cut (We have found none!) Programs like SBIR/STTR, ARPA-H, and state-backed initiatives continue to provide critical non-dilutive capital for deep-tech, biotech, and medtech founders.
