Bella is an outstanding student-athlete and exemplifies?everything right about college athletics, career readiness and student-athlete development. She is a general business major who is interested in a career in marketing. Last summer she was a member of our Cetera Financial Group summer internship cohort. Our Aztecs Going Pro (AGP) program has three pillars. As I’ve acclimated into stewarding the program, I’ve tried to ensure we’re embracing the Civic Engagement pillar. Today Xavier Hamlett was named to the All Mountain West community service team for his work to at risk population in the downtown community. The same evening, we had student-athletes from Water Polo and Football take time out of their schedules to join the Birney elementary school book night! I’m grateful to support such amazing student-athletes who reflect our core values in all that they do. Go Aztecs!

I had the amazing opportunity to attend the School of Journalism & Media Studies Fest Spring 2025 this Tuesday morning, featuring guest speaker Vanessa E. Rosales, (the Principal Lead of Community Engagement for Chick-fil-A,)through engaging and connecting with various JMS clubs to learning valuable insights on making an impact in the industry, here are my main takeaways: Experience matters: Internships are a great way to learn about your interests and gain a clear sense of what you enjoy Networking is essential: Building meaningful relationships and staying connected will be crucial down the road. Treat everyone with respect, and never burn bridges. Follow your passion, not the paycheck: It’s important to pursue what excites you, rather than just going for the money. When you’re passionate about your work, the financial rewards will come naturally.
