In this December 6 training, we will explore scenarios and cases to identify this issue in our communities and discuss resolutions to this ever-growing concern. ? Participants will also have the opportunity to hear from and engage with Lilia Alvarez, Assistant U.S. District Attorney. Lilia will provide a brief overview of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Arizona's civil rights practice, with an emphasis on the Department's Sexual Harassment in Housing Initiative and the Fair Housing Act. ?? While individuals may use substances as a way to cope with adverse living conditions, stress, and the trauma of life events - including homelessness - it is also the case that without stable housing individuals often experience barriers to accessing and following treatment recommendations for substance abuse disorders. ??
