Laura Pritts and I had the honor and privilege to travel with members of McLean County Chamber of Commerce and GOYA Ministries, Inc. this past couple of weeks. Three schools and three intense visits, each one more eye opening than the last. We had the opportunity to visit REM high school in the Ngong Hills outside of Nairobi, the elementary school in Magadi and the orphanage and elementary school in the slums of South B. With each school visit, the impact being made by GOYA Ministries, Inc. is felt more deeply. GOYA is a beacon of light for the poorest of the poor in Kenya. The intentionality of their work is something to aspire to in business. They are great stewards of the gifts provided them. A little can go such a long way in this place and received with great love and happiness. The needs continue to grow and all those elementary children need a junior high to attend. GOYA can build an entire JH School for $50,000 (building only). One of our fellow travelers provided a $25,000 matching pledge to go towards the building of the junior high. Axis 360 Commercial Real Estate Specialists would like to extend and put out a $5,000 challenge, matching funds to go towards the remaining $25,000 to build the school.
