I posted last week about healthcare cost annual trends coming down significantly over the last 3 decades vs. the 3 decades prior. I was asked how much impact high inflation of the 1970's and 1980's had. The 1960's may be the most interesting decade with relatively low inflation but very high healthcare trends. It appears a big shift occurred in the 1990's as far as bringing health cost trends closer to CPI trends (but still close to double).
