This #BlackHistoryMonth, we honor and celebrate the impact of Black leaders past and present who have made lasting contributions to creating more equitable healthcare.? ? While research on disparities in pelvic floor disorders remains limited, evidence suggests that women facing greater social needs—such as food and housing insecurity, financial strain, and underemployment—experience a disproportionate burden of these conditions. Yet, despite the availability of effective treatments, healthcare utilization remains low, with only 37% of affected women seeking care. At Axena Health, we believe that achieving equitable access to care requires acknowledging and addressing these disparities.
