Disposing of hazardous and chemical waste properly is a giant concern these days. We work with our partners to comply with regulations throughout the remediation process. Our construction managers first remove the affected soil and materials. Then, our chemists handle the intricate disposal of the waste according to DOT standards. It’s our job to know the RCRA, TSCA & state-by-state regulations for each site remediation we take on. Did you know? The EPA has proposed significant updates to the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) by adding 16 specific PFAS and 15 PFAS categories, representing over 100 PFAS compounds, to address environmental and health concerns. This rule would classify PFAS as chemicals of special concern, setting a strict 100-pound reporting threshold and requiring disclosures even at low concentrations. Why is this important? These proposed changes aim to hold facilities accountable for PFAS linked to serious health risks, including cancer and organ damage. The updates also close gaps by grouping similar PFAS for combined reporting, improving transparency in industries handling these substances. Contaminated soil comes with the territory in NY, NJ and PA. Most building sites in the East have had many different occupants over the decades which means decades of changing environmental regulations. Our consultants trust our site remediation expertise to review their soil assessments and then turn around and safely excavate, transport, and dispose of the contaminated soil and materials.
