Some may remember Mattie Stepanek, the extraordinary child poet who touched the world with his words and unwavering spirit. I first saw him on Oprah years ago and felt an instant kinship. His compassion and innate ability to spread peace, despite all he endured, wasn't just inspiring—it was a lesson in what it truly means to live with divine purpose. Mattie wrote a series of books at a young age, filled with profound, yet simple truths. To this day, I turn to them when I need to be reminded of what truly matters. I’ve often given them as gifts because the messages within them are timeless. (There is an entire Heartsong's series that every single person should have ??) His sweet mother, Jenni, recently shared with me that in his Memorial Peace Garden, there is a tribute wall that reads: "Peace is possible. It can begin over a game of chess and a cup of tea." That quote & picture brought everything full circle for me. May we all carry a little of Mattie’s light, today and always.
