Avivid Water Technology: a new spin on water treatment.

关于我们

At Avivid Water, we envision a future with abundant clean water for communities, businesses, and the natural world. Avivid Water Technology, LLC (AWT) is a Colorado company dedicated to enhancing the world’s water resources via the company’s patented TurboCoag? technology. Avivid Water treats industrial wastewater contaminated with emulsified oils, heavy metals, suspended solids, and microorganisms with its electrocoagulation (EC) water treatment system that eliminates the need for chemicals to purify water. We specialize in hard to treat water like produced oil water, acid mine drainage, garment dye water, PFAS treatment, and landfill leachate, replacing chemicals with innovative technology. Avivid Water Technology (AWT) has developed the TurboCoag? system which is self-cleaning, lower cost, and requires less energy than legacy EC systems. The TurboCoag? system produces 30-70% less waste sludge when compared to traditional chemical treatment processes. The sludge passes the standard Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) analysis and can be disposed of in a conventional landfill. The treatment process acts as a biocide, killing harmful microorganisms, while sequestering heavy metals and soluble organic compounds. Treated water can frequently be used with no further processing. Avivid's patented wastewater treatment solution meets the demands of customers that need to reduce pollution abatement costs, comply with EPA regulations, and reduce water consumption/waste in response to the growing demand in the water market and quickly diminishing water resources.

Understanding Water Contamination Terms When discussing water pollutants like heavy metals, we often see scientific terms that explain how contaminants affect health and the environment. Here are some key terms to know: Bioaccumulation: This means that a substance, like cadmium or mercury, builds up in an organism over time. For example, fish exposed to contaminated water gradually accumulate toxins in their bodies, which can then enter the human food chain and them accumulate in our bodies. Nephrotoxicity: A term referring to toxicity in the kidneys. Nephrotoxic substances, like lead and cadmium, damage kidney cells, impairing kidney function over time. Carcinogen: A substance that can cause cancer. Hexavalent chromium, for instance, damages DNA, which increases the risk of developing cancer, especially in organs that process contaminants. Genotoxicity: This describes a substance's ability to damage genetic material (DNA) within cells. Genotoxic agents, like hexavalent chromium, can lead to mutations and increase cancer risk. Oxidative Stress: A condition where harmful molecules, called free radicals, build up in cells. This process can be triggered by toxins like cadmium, leading to cell damage and increased risk of chronic diseases. Knowing these terms helps us understand the importance of clean water and the science behind contamination risks. #WaterScience #PollutionGlossary #CleanWaterKnowledge #ProtectOurHealth #watertreatment

Cadmium, a heavy metal found in industrial runoff, mining waste, and fertilizers, poses significant health risks when it enters our water supply. This pollutant is toxic even at low concentrations and can accumulate in the body, impacting multiple organ systems over time. Health Risks of Cadmium Exposure: Cadmium is known for its nephrotoxicity, leading to kidney dysfunction and chronic kidney disease due to its ability to accumulate and impair kidney function. Long-term exposure to cadmium causes bones to become brittle and fragile, increasing the risk of fractures and conditions like osteoporosis. Cadmium is classified as a carcinogen and has been linked to lung, prostate, and bladder cancer due to its oxidative stress effects on cells. Research shows cadmium exposure can elevate blood pressure and lead to cardiovascular disease by disrupting cellular function. Cadmium can also accumulate in the liver, impairing its function and causing cellular damage. Since cadmium persists in the environment and bioaccumulates, it poses long-term risks to ecosystems and public health. Protecting our water sources with regular monitoring and effective filtration is essential for keeping our communities safe from this hazardous contaminant. #Watertreatment #WaterSafety #ToxicMetals #PublicHealth #ProtectOurWater

Hexavalent Chromium (Cr(VI)), a toxic industrial pollutant, poses significant health risks when it contaminates water supplies. Known for its applications in metal plating, manufacturing, and leather tanning, Cr(VI) is particularly hazardous due to its high solubility and mobility in water, allowing it to easily enter and accumulate in drinking water sources. Health Impacts of Hexavalent Chromium: - Cr(VI) is a proven carcinogen that damages DNA, increasing risks of various cancers, especially gastrointestinal cancers when ingested and lung cancer when inhaled. - Exposure to Cr(VI) can cause mutations in cells, a process directly linked to its cancer-causing potential. - Chronic exposure leads to kidney and liver damage, as these organs work to filter contaminants from the bloodstream. - Even low levels of exposure through skin contact can cause rashes, sores, and ulcers, while inhalation can irritate the respiratory tract. - Studies indicate that Cr(VI) can impair fertility and may cause developmental issues in offspring. Due to its toxicity and persistence, Cr(VI) exposure is particularly concerning in communities relying on industrial-impacted water sources. Protecting our water supply through regular testing, effective filtration technologies, and stringent regulatory standards is essential for safeguarding public health. ???? #HexavalentChromium #PublicHealth #WaterSafety #Watertreatment #ProtectOurWater

Lead contamination in water, often due to corrosion in old pipes, industrial waste, and pollution runoff, poses severe health risks. Even low lead levels are harmful, as this heavy metal accumulates in the body over time, impacting multiple systems. Here’s how lead in water can affect us scientifically: 1. Neurotoxicity: Lead is a potent neurotoxin, meaning it directly affects the brain and nervous system. In children, even tiny amounts can disrupt neurodevelopment, leading to: -Reduced IQ and cognitive deficits -Behavioral problems like attention disorders and impulsivity -Learning disabilities and reduced academic performance 2. Kidney Damage: Lead exposure strains the kidneys, particularly in adults and people with prolonged exposure. It impairs kidney function and increases the risk of chronic kidney disease, which can lead to more severe health complications. 3. Cardiovascular Risks: Lead exposure is linked to high blood pressure and increased risk of heart disease. This is due to its effects on blood vessels, leading to vascular damage and contributing to hypertension over time. 4. Impact on Fetal Development: For pregnant women, lead can cross the placental barrier, affecting the fetus’s development. This exposure increases the risk of preterm birth, low birth weight, and long-term neurological impacts in children. 5. Bioaccumulation: Unlike some toxins that can be flushed out, lead remains stored in bones and teeth, releasing back into the bloodstream over time, which can lead to long-term toxicity even after exposure stops. Even small amounts of lead are dangerous because it’s a cumulative toxin—it builds up in the body with repeated exposure. Visit avividwater.com today to see how we can remove lead from your water. #Lead #NeurotoxinAwareness #CleanWaterScience #ProtectOurHealth #WaterSafety #watertreatmentsystem
