This past weekend, our Human Resources team attended the Grad and Go! Seminar for seniors at Warren G. Harding High School. We are proud to have been part of this event and to support our local community! From our Executive Vice President of Human Resources, Tracie Mavrogianis: "I was proud to represent AVI at the Grad and Go! Seminar conducted by Game Changers, a non-profit leadership development organization, based out of NE Ohio, that creates platforms that focus on the personal and professional development of students as they matriculate into college, enlist in the military, continue development for the skilled trades or prepare to join the workforce, at Warren G Harding High School.?I had the opportunity to join a panel of esteem professionals in the Mahoning and Trumbull Counties and give career readiness and professional advice to the young, talented Harding seniors. After the panel discussion, 30 Human Resources professionals met with the young seniors to assist with Resume Building, Networking Tips and Mock Interviews.?AVI HR team members, Joey Vitali, HR Compensation Specialist and Camaira Franklin, HR Recruiter were 2 of the 30 professionals assisting with making the Harding seniors career ready.?It was a great day representing our great company and talking to our young talent that could one day be a part of our growing AVI Family!" A huge thank you to our HR team for their dedication and hard work in making a difference in our community! https://lnkd.in/eDTmAdKC

This #WomensHistoryMonth, we’re celebrating the women who have shaped AVI’s journey. Pictured here are some of the trailblazing women who played a key role in our early days during the 1970s. Their dedication and impact continue to inspire us today!

Celebrating #PiDay the best way we know how—with plenty of pie! Some features enjoyed by our team members today include our Chicken Pot Pie, Banana Cream Pie, Chocolate Cream Pie and the fan-favorite Blueberry Pie Pizza. We had so much fun in the kitchen with our chefs Don Kraynak and Jonathan Komyati while they were cooking up these delicious pies in the research & development test kitchen.

Meet Terrence T! Terrence has worked for AVI for 1.5 years as a Resident Director at one of our K12 accounts. Q: What’s the best thing about working at AVI Foodsystems? A: The exposure to different branches of the Food & Beverage industry. It allows you to gain knowledge of the industry from a wider perspective.?I appreciate the opportunity the company provides all while remaining family-owned. Q: What has surprised you the most about working at AVI Foodsystems? A: The sheer volume and impact the company has on various areas in the industry. I was truly impressed with the folio and just multitude of branches and what the company has under its umbrella. Q: What valuable skills/knowledge have you obtained or refined working at AVI Foodsystems? A: I would say the best thing has been working in a different aspect of the Food Industry.?Education is extremely important for students, but the nutritional needs of our students are just as important to their success. In this role, I can help improve their educational experience in a more impactful way. Q: What advice would you give to recruits? A: My advice is to be yourself and be open to a different approach.?As my background prior to joining AVI was more “corporate“, it took some time to adapt. In the end, the results tend to be the same, so keeping an open mind is highly recommended. Q: What does “The AVI Family Difference” mean to you? A: You can see that as a family-owned business, everyone is expected to contribute and perform at a high level.?No one is above it, and accountability and success are what drives it.
