Demand Planning, Inventory Levels, and Shortening Cycles: The New Norm Moving Forward By Jim Holbrook Founder - Premier Plastics Uncertainty was beyond question a certainty the last 18 to 24 months in a global market besieged by the onslaught of COVID-19, which is still hugging the corners of society. However, there were several other mitigating factors that made 2021-2022 a very difficult year for manufacturers, retailers, distribution centers and family households alike. Especially hard hit in 2021 and early 2022 were the shipping and manufacturing industries, which are still hobbling along yet showing improvement daily. If anything, what the last 18 to 24 months exposed is that there are many weak points in multiple companies that quite frankly were just not prepared. As we are now a few weeks into the launch of our new brand, we would like to share a quick message from our CEO Jeremy Horton: On behalf of our entire team, let me be the first to welcome you to Averra Packaging! No, we're not a new company - we've actually been doing business as Premier Plastics for over 35 years - but we are sporting a new name and a new look. The decision to rename and rebrand a business is a big one, so I thought it would be appropriate to talk about the rebrand and our new look. The name "Averra" is a portmanteau of two Latin words: "Aver" which means "to avoid" and "vera" which means "truth". These words are meaningful to our business. One purpose of packaging is to avoid damage and contamination to products. And our company's core values are built around honesty and transparency - in other words, truth. So we love the new name because it has meaning to all of us here. We also changed our modifier to "packaging" as a reflection of the ever-expanding capabilities and services we offer. We have long been more than just a plastics company, and this change is a nod to our past as well as a peek into our future. While the furniture and carpet may look different today than they did yesterday, I want to emphasize that the foundation of our house remains the same. We continue to operate by the same principles you've come to expect from us: World-class customer service, open communication, transparency, responsiveness, creative solutions, and high-quality products at a great value. Premier Plastics is rebranding and changing our name to Averra Packaging! In conjunction with this announcement, we are also thrilled to announce that we are expanding our capabilities to include tray lids, header bags, and other flexible medical packaging. With these new capabilities taking us out of the realm of traditional plastics, we made the decision to change our name to better capture the full breadth of our new product offerings.
