Julie is heading to Tulum, Mexico for the Hospitality Design Summit on March 12-14! HD Summit emphasizes connection and relationship-building in an effort to recharge and inspire the industry. From enthralling Summit Sessions to fun networking opportunities, we’re excited to become a familiar face to attendees and beyond.??

A lot can happen in 100 years. From an Art Deco luxury hotel in the 1920s to a historic Chicago apartment building now, The Edison stands as vibrant edifice in the Edgewater neighborhood. ? The “E”-shaped building was the first Chicago neighborhood lit by Thomas Edison’s lightbulb, becoming a beacon of the skyline’s ethereal glow. What was once a popular summer housing for the wealthy has since transformed into a home for all with it eclectic and whimsical apartments and common areas.?? ? As Avenir’s first project, The Edison highlighted our firm’s practice of entrenching ourselves in a neighborhood’s history to incorporate into our designs. Even with a tight budget, the passion of our client and the team transformed The Edison into a brighter version of itself.??

We’re honored to say that The Weather Room has been included in People Magazine’s list of 50 most beautiful restaurants in America! The Weather Room, located in Downtown Topeka's Cyrus Hotel, was designed to have a lot of heart. Our team not only weaved notes of local anecdotal and printed history, but we also married a comfortable and elevated ambiance when creating this space.?? Thank you, People Magazine, for recognizing The Weather Room, and thank you to the patrons who’ve recognized its heart.????
