Ship now, fix later? Sudheer Koneru of Zenoti flipped this maxim on its head. He fixed first and then shipped. Sudheer invested significant time in building software tailored to the needs of spas much to the frustration of some of his early employees wondering when the startup would start selling and get the business going. But it was because of the hard choice of fixing the product first that getting to that early $5M revenue was not very hard for the company. “We got there very fast once we started selling because our software was so tailored and there was nobody else who had built as good a software for exactly that target customer,” says Sudheer. Zenoti offers software for spas and salons across 50 countries to manage and digitize appointments, handle point-of-sale operations, and take care of payment and inventory management.
