New publication alert! https://lnkd.in/egXf-P3E A recent analysis of Medicare data (2016 to Q3 2022) revealed that Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty (RSA) had a lower initial revision rate (1.9%) compared to Total Shoulder Arthroplasty (TSA) (3.5%), but higher rates for subsequent revisions. RSA also incurred greater Medicare costs for both the initial procedure and revisions. Avant-garde Health uses this data to improve surgical outcomes and financial performance, working with the Codman Shoulder Society to help healthcare systems optimize care quality and cost management through collaboration between surgeons, researchers, and healthcare leaders. A recent study was published in The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Inc. that examined the factors that drive variation in cost of hip arthroscopy for labral pathological conditions. The procedures were analyzed with the help of Avant-garde Health's CareMeasurement software identifying procedure specific time stamps and supply costs.
