?? Did you know that October is Health Literacy Month! ?? At Avana Health we believe that understanding health information is essential for making informed decisions, especially when it comes to maternal health. This month, we are shining a spotlight on health literacy and its critical role in addressing uterine health. Abnormal uterine bleeding is the reason for 1/3 of all gynecology visits annually, and can lead to anemia, can be accompanied by pain, and can lead to an overall decreased quality of life. Educating women involves knowing about what to look for, how to communicate effectively with healthcare providers, and the importance of seeking timely care. This Health Literacy Month, let’s commit to promoting understanding and awareness around postpartum hemorrhage and maternal health. Together, we can empower women to take charge of their health and well-being! #HealthLiteracyMonth #UterineHealth #MaternalHealth #EmpowerWomen #AvanaHealth

?? Sport Purple for Platelets Day 2024 ?? September 27th is Sport Purple for Platelets Day! At Avana Health, we understand how vital this is, especially in the context of postpartum hemorrhage risk. Postpartum hemorrhage is a leading cause of maternal morbidity and can be exacerbated by platelet disorders. Women with conditions like thrombocytopenia (low platelet counts) are at an increased risk for severe bleeding after delivery, and at Avana Health, we are committed to improving outcomes for mothers and their newborns. Our treatments are being developed to be used in areas where access to platelet donation is limited or non-existent. Contact us to learn more about what we are doing to expand access to maternal healthcare! #SportPurpleForPlatelets #PlateletAwareness #PostpartumHealth #AvanaHealth ??

According to a recent March of Dimes report, over 35% of counties in the US are identified as maternity care deserts. This gap leaves more than 2.3 million women of childbearing age without access to crucial birthing facilities and obstetric care. At Avana Health, our treatments are designed to be used by providers in rural settings. The mission at Avana Health is to bridge these gaps and ensure equitable access to high-quality maternity care for all. #MaternityCare #HealthcareDisparities #FemTech #WomensHealth
