Thank you to the Ann Arbor City Council for their vote Monday approving the third phase of our Hickory Way Apartments on Maple Road. We plan to add a new building with 39 units of permanent supportive housing for people coming out of homelessness. It was wonderful to welcome filmmakers Don Sawyer and Tim Hashko from A Bigger Vision Films to Ann Arbor last night for a screening of "Beyond the Bridge: A Solution to Homelessness" -- turnout was incredible, and the discussion afterwards about how to address the issue illustrated how much people across the community care about this problem. The film captures insights from 12 cities and interviews with dozens of service providers and policymakers, all driven by one key question: “How can we solve homelessness in a comprehensive way?”.
