It was great to be a part of this amazing event, and wonderful to see so much of the community interested in working to combat homelessness!
Did you see the Beyond the Bridge: A Solution to Homelessness documentary in Ann Arbor this week? Jennifer Erb-Downward, director of housing stability programs and policy initiatives at Poverty Solutions, shared her research on student and family homelessness, and PS faculty affiliate Roshanak Mehdipanah of Housing Solutions for Health Equity was part of a panel discussion following the film about local and statewide homelessness reponse. Thank you to University of Michigan School of Social Work, City of Ann Arbor, University of Michigan - Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, Washtenaw County, Washtenaw Housing Alliance, ANN ARBOR HOUSING DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, University of Michigan School of Public Health, & Avalon Housing for making the screening and discussion possible!

It was wonderful to welcome filmmakers Don Sawyer and Tim Hashko from A Bigger Vision Films to Ann Arbor last night for a screening of "Beyond the Bridge: A Solution to Homelessness" -- turnout was incredible, and the discussion afterwards about how to address the issue illustrated how much people across the community care about this problem. Check out the slides for an amazing gallery of resources and data at the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor, and across the county: https://lnkd.in/gQZvnHMu

We hope you can join us TONIGHT at the Michigan Theater for a special screening of "Beyond the Bridge: A Solution to Homelessness," a new documentary examining the root causes of homelessness and exploring comprehensive solutions. The film captures insights from 12 cities and interviews with dozens of service providers and policymakers, all driven by one key question: “How can we solve homelessness in a comprehensive way?”. Avalon's Director of Services Molly Smith will participate in a panel discussion afterwards, which will include filmmaker Don Sawyer. Please RSVP at https://lnkd.in/gbX9W4Wg
