Just wrapped up an incredible experience at Themed Entertainment Association Inspire Conference—and it truly lived up to its name! It was amazing to go behind the scenes of Thea Award-winning projects, gaining insight into the creativity, innovation, and dedication that bring these experiences to life. Beyond the inspiring sessions, one of the best parts was reconnecting with longtime colleagues and finally meeting current collaborators in person. There’s nothing quite like sharing ideas and energy with such a passionate community. I had the pleasure of sharing the conference with my Available Light colleagues Damien Perard, Jennifer Skinner?LC, Design IALD, MIES, and Gabrielle Strong this year; it was incredible to have that shared experience and a cute robot photo op! Feeling creatively invigorated and excited for what’s next! If you attended, what were your biggest takeaways? #TEAInspire #TheaAwards #ThemedEntertainment #Creativity

I'm still buzzing after attending the Building Museums Symposium in St. Louis! It was incredible to catch up with colleagues, meet new people, and reconnect with old friends from the museum world. ? For me, events like this are a reminder that our work is not just about exhibits, collections, and programs – it's also about the people we serve, collaborate with, and learn from ??. I'm grateful for the opportunity to build relationships, share ideas, and be inspired by others who are passionate about museums. ? It's a privilege to be part of this community, and I feel energized and motivated to continue pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve together!?? ? #BuildingMuseumsSymposium #MuseumCommunity #Collaboration #Connection Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums Available Light Matt Zelkowitz Steven Rosen, FIALD, CLD, IES

This was year's wonderful edition of the #BuildingMuseumsConference continued to expand on notion of positive interaction. In a time when our cultural mores are under attack, a sense of collaboration, trust, and determination seemed to take hold. Conferences that voluntarily extricate us from a never-ending stream of Zoom calls provide a deep breath of oxygen. Gatherings of like-motivated people get us out of our heads, and into a handshake or a hug. We are reminded of how much we love both what we do and the people with whom we do it. Whether it is being inspired by: ? Great work (i.e., The National WWII Museum, the new entry experience pavilion to the #StLouisBotanicalGarden, the future #MilwaukeePublicMuseum, or the breathtaking St. Louis Arch) ? A great glass of wine or meal (Cheers to Jerry Eisterhold, Wayne LaBar, Alice Walker, Lisa J. Reed, and Praxis Museum Projects Group) ? A great meetup (thanks to the SEGD Professional Practice Groups for Museum Exhibition and Digital & Interactive Media) this gathering of museum aficionados and builders was battery-charging. Thanks to the #MidAtlanticAssociationOfMuseums organizers and sponsors–your efforts and treasure are genuinely appreciated. I extend my gratitude to my existing and newly minted friends and colleagues. For it to function properly, a network must be cared for, nurtured, and expanded. When owners, architects, designers, owners reps, manufacturers, industry experts, builders and relationship-building professionals of all types come together–in person–great things are bound to happen. It was a privilege to be "In the room."
