Every year, we see a flood of projections about the next big trend or shiny object that’s going to change everything. But my advice to clients is simple: don’t worry about trends. Don’t get distracted by the latest social media platform or try to "game" AI. Instead, focus on the fundamentals. The unglamorous, often-overlooked basics that actually move the needle. At Aux Insights, we liken it to eating your vegetables. This looks like ensuring: → Your customer journey and ideal customer profile are clearly defined. → Your conversion rate optimization (CRO) is dialed in. → A strong nurture and email program is in place. → Your data and attribution are clean and reliable. → You’re running consistent A/B tests to refine and optimize. When you’ve nailed the basics, everything else—new channels, viral moments, or innovative tools—becomes easier to turn on and scale. For 2025, I’m taking a page from the legendary St. Louis Cardinals manager Whitey Herzog and his "Whitey Ball" philosophy. His focus was simple: don’t aim for home runs. Play for singles and doubles. The steady plays are the ones that keep you in the game. If you focus on executing the fundamentals, you’ll find yourself positioned for success—not just for a season, but when it matters most, in October.
