AUVSI — Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International is proud to have members like Packet Digital, with leaders like Terri Zimmerman & Chad Collier, forging a battery industry in the United States to supply the UxS industry. Much work remains ahead for the U.S. and our allied partners, for batteries and other critical components (chips, motors, etc.), but AUVSI will remain the tip of the spear for our members to solve hard problems.

What an absolutely fantastic opportunity to be invited to the White House by AUVSI — Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International to discuss some of the current issues facing the UAS industry in America. We're honored to be asked to present on the state of drone battery manufacturing in the US, and the critical need to ramp up domestic production of this vital component. Large scale manufacturing of drone battery packs and cells in the US has its challenges, no doubt, but Packet Digital and Badland Batteries are 100% poised to tackle this "opportunity" head-on.

???Important Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) draft safety rule update for the?#drone?industry: The White House House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has accepted the draft rule from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). The OMB Office of Information & Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) will now appraise the rule and run an interagency review process. AUVSI — Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International and the Commercial Drone Alliance will be meeting with OIRA in the immediate future to stress the importance of draft safety rule moving forward — which we all know is critical for the U.S. to retain global leadership in drones and advanced aviation. A streamlined OIRA review process is key.??As evidenced by the recent FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024, the draft safety rule is supported overwhelmingly by bipartisan consensus in both houses of Congress. The many benefits of this safety rule, including economic growth, job creation, national security, enhanced safety, and more, depend on the draft rule progressing in a timely way. That's why our organizations respectfully ask that individual member companies stand down from scheduling individual meetings with OIRA on the draft safety rule so that OIRA can move with speed through their process, with a goal of publishing the draft safety rule for review in early January. AUVSI and CDA will strongly represent the views of our industry in these White House meetings.
