AutoTRUST is Moving Forward! ?? ?? Exciting moments at the University of Geneva, where the members of I-Sec Lab had the pleasure of hosting partners from around the world [University of Geneva, tpg transports publics genevois (???? Switzerland) | AviSense.AI, Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH) (???? Greece) | Waveye, Siemens (???? Germany) | Alke Electric Vehicles (???? Italy) | University of Agder (UiA) (???? Norway) | Cáritas Diocesana de Coimbra (???? Portugal) | KATECH (Korea Automotive Technology Institute), MORAI Inc.(???? South Korea) | Cyprus Public Transport, KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence from University of Cyprus (???? Cyprus)] and Maurizio Caon as a member of the advisory board, for the AutoTRUST 3rd plenary meeting! Over two productive days (February 12–13), partners shared updates on their progress across various work packages and outlined the next steps toward shaping this groundbreaking project. Besides, several demos were showcased, including:? 1. In-vehicle environmental quality and passenger behavior detection by KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence. 2. Driver distraction detection and virtual assistant by Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH).? 3. Model-based solutions for 3D data restoration and cross-view geolocalization, cooperative situational awareness, and privacy-preserving federated learning by AviSense.AI. 4. AI-driven imaging radar for multi-modal machine perception by Waveye. Furthermore, the design process for the architecture of AutoTRUST and its sub-components was formalised by all partners. AutoTRUST project is overseen by CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency and financed within the #HorizonEurope framework as well as by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation SERI and Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT). Recently, Sajad HAMZENEJADI and Faithful Abah, two PhD researchers from the University of Geneva, I-Sec Lab, participated in the CUSO Winter School 2025 on Human-AI Collaboration in Champéry, Switzerland. ???? As part of the AutoTRUST project, both had the opportunity to present their research on securing the future of autonomous vehicles: ?? Sajad HAMZENEJADI is working on secure and privacy-preserving Federated Learning for autonomous vehicles, ensuring data protection while enhancing AI-driven mobility. ?? Faithful Abah is focused on the integration of machine-readable human factors and user profiling to understand the cognitive, physical, and emotional aspects of user interactions with autonomous vehicles. The future of mobility is not just autonomous—it’s inclusive, secure, and adaptive. AutoTRUST is paving the way, and discussions like these are crucial for shaping what’s next. ?? AutoTRUST is Moving Forward! ?? We’re thrilled to share updates on AutoTRUST: Autonomous self-adaptive services for Transformational personalised inclUsivenesS and resilience in mobiliTy! This groundbreaking project is setting the stage to redefine the relationship between humans and autonomous vehicles by focusing on safety, trust, and inclusivity. ? Our Journey So Far:?? Virtual kickoff in May 2024?? Face-to-face meeting in June at the beautiful city of Thessaloniki, Greece ?? hosted by Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH) ?? Next Steps & Updates: During the online second plenary meeting of the AutoTRUST project, the team focused on overcoming challenges and making strides across multiple work packages, including project management, user-centered design, advanced monitoring systems, and personalization technologies. We also reviewed progress on pilot projects aimed at enhancing occupant comfort, safety, and accessibility in public transportation. Furthermore, the design process for the architecture of AutoTRUST was initiated, integrating user requirements and state-of-the-art practices. Through close collaboration with partners and other stakeholders, the architectural design and specifications were refined iteratively to optimize security, interoperability, and quality of service within the AutoTRUST project. Kick-off meeting at University of Geneva for AutoTRUST, the new EU project targeting autonomous self-adaptive services for personalized inclusiveness and resilience in mobility. A very challenging project with a consortium that goes beyond into European borders with partners also from Korea, Japan and the United States. ALKE as automotive OEM will develop a self-driving platform with advanced in-vehicle and out-of-vehicle monitoring systems and in-vehicle auto-set-up solutions to ensure best comfort and maximum usability for users with limited mobility or visual impairment.
