We're excited to announce the formation of the Coalition for Financial Ecosystem Standards (CFES), an industry-led organization dedicated to setting operating rules that promote safety and soundness for nonbanks participating in financial services. ?? What is CFES?? CFES is an industry-led coalition setting standards to promote safety and soundness for nonbank financial services companies. ?? Why it matters:? The health of nonbank financial services companies and the bank partnerships they rely on are crucial for innovation, but the lack of regulatory certainty and clear industry standards hinders progress. CFES aims to bridge this gap, fostering innovation while ensuring compliance and risk management. CFES was co-founded by FS Vector and Sima Gandhi, with founding members including leading fintechs such as Stripe, Brex, Block, Mercury, Rho and Relay. Our goal is to help define compliance and risk management standards for bank-nonbank partnerships. ?? Key benefits:? ?? Clearer alignment on compliance and risk management practices? ?? Standardized expectations throughout initial due diligence and various phases of growth ?? Enhanced trust and compliance across the fintech ecosystem ?? Who's involved:? CFES members include nonbank financial services companies that are either self-licensed or partnering with banks across a variety of spectrums, including lending, payments, open banking, and deposit taking. Setting standards is a fundamentally collaborative effort, and we regularly correspond with partner banks, regulatory experts, consumer advocates, and other industry experts.
