2024 Was a preparation year for Autonomous Karting Series and 2025 we are growing! In 2024 we had our single race as the AKS US National Grand Prix. In 2025 we are planning for 7 Races! We will hold 2 smaller races in each of our major US regions on top of our National Grand Prix. The regions are the West Coast, Southeast, and Midwest and will feature a Fall and Spring event for the local universities in that region. In order to do this we need sponsors to help reduce the cost for the universities so that all universities are able to focus on building their karts! If we could plan for every incident then the race wouldn't have been interesting. Congratulations to every team who competed this year in the AKS National Grand Prix! In the Open and Reactive categories for a double win was UPenn with Autoware Foundation Following them in the Reactive Category we had UCSD's Triton AI in 2nd Place and University of Michigan Dearborn's Intelligent Systems Club in 3rd. In the Open Category we had UC Berkeley's ROAR in 2nd Place and UCSD's Triton AI in 3rd. Another congratulations to UM-D for winning the Danny White Engineering Award by designing a system that uses mostly off-the-shelf parts while maintaining great documentation and acknowledging the cost of components to keep the cost down! Every team at the AKS National Grand Prix has their own designs and solutions! It is great to see such different approaches to the same problem. Teams are willing to help each other out to get everyone running, and with most karts running and testing on day 2, Thursday's race will be great!

The opening day of the Autonomous Karting Series National Grand Prix is done and all 5 teams at the track have passed safety inspections! Teams are already running on the track and beating bugs, come visit on May 23rd at the Purdue Grand Prix Track if you are in the area or watch the event live!

It is almost that time of year! The 2024 AKS National Grand Prix at Purdue University is coming up May 20th - May 24th 2024. Come see university students show off their skills in robotics, engineering, and machine learning as they put the wheels on the ground for the first competition of 2024!
