The Ecosystem Science and Innovation Lab’s new RIEGL terrestrial laser scanner arrived, funded by the Arizona Board of Regents and the citizens of Arizona via the Technology and Researxh Initiative Fund. This will allow us to build systems to predict wildfires, build autonomous drone systems to map ecosystems at scale and assist military personnel in forested environments, push the cutting edge of our understanding of forest-climate interactions, and more.
