AI has certainly changed how we view technology these past two years. In 2022, the world was introduced to ChatGPT 3.5, uprooting conceptions we had about Artificial intelligence, and inspiring both fear and excitement in the workforce. Since then, we have seen several camps emerging in the business world: 1. The Apathetic: this camp believes that AI is just a fad, that soon, ChatGPT will go the way of the Zune, and Google glass. 2. The Doomsday Prophets: these people focus on the concerning aspects of AI, whether exaggerated or real (Super-intelligence, deepfakes, etc.). 3. The Evangelists: these individuals focus on the exciting aspects of AI, some believing that AI will rush in a Utopia of civilizational progression. But, while most people fall somewhere in those three camps, the truth is far less extreme 4. The Realists: these people understand that AI is like any tool - it is only as strong as the person wielding it. AI gives power, the power to save time, or to enhance quality. allowing you to use it how you see fit. AI is going to continue to revolutionize our workplace, but if you are too: excited, afraid, or apathetic, do some research. I promise you that your findings will probably surprise you!

I like to call this trick the ‘AI Sandwich.’ Essentially, this technique involves three simple steps: 1. Write in your own words. Write a rough draft or an outline that gets all of your content on paper 2. Revise with AI. Any expert will tell you that generative AI works best when given context. 3. Revise with your own words. While AI can do anything from lengthen to ‘wordsmith’ your sentences, it CANNOT perfectly replicate in your own, human, voice.

Digital Automation and Microsoft Power Platform are changing the game for small-medium businesses. The Canadian media company, Cineplex, was recently mentioned by Microsoft for successfully utilizing the digital automation within Microsoft Power Platform to save their company 30,000 hours per year. This is on par with large businesses, but the surprising part of this, is that Cineplex has hired only a little bit over 100 employees. Not 1000 employees... 100 employees. If everyone at their company was payed $35/hour, that means they would still continue to save over 1 million dollars every year.
