The Plymouth CAST estate can now be managed more efficiently through the implementation of Virtual Reality (VR). Over the past year, we have experimented with multiple VR solutions. Some were good, some were not so great, but Autodesk Workshop XR has emerged as the clear winner. "????, ???? ???????? ???????? ?????????????? ?????????? ???????????? ?????????" Actually, no. At Plymouth CAST we are on a journey to become a fully digital estate and this transformation is about unlocking efficiency, engaging stakeholders, and driving innovation. "????, ???????? ???????? ?????? ???? ???????? ?????" It's still early days, and we have a lot of work ahead as we develop our ???????????????????? ???????????????????? (????) ?????? ?????????? ???????????????? ?????????????????? (???????? ???? ???????? ???? ?????????????? ????????!). For now, I see this as a strategic and high-level operational management tool. The VR model is a visualisation of our ???????????????? ?????????????????????? ?????????????????? (BIM) models, and we can already perform a range of tasks, with clear benefits: ? ???????????????????? ?????? ????????????????????: With 35 schools, we can better understand each space, experiment with room layouts, and view changes in real-time maintaining optimal conditions for learning environments. It can take up to 3 hours (one way) to see our furthest school, so this will certainly save time. ? ?????????????? ????????????????: Hold virtual meetings for project planning, allowing seamless collaboration. I recently had a meeting to discuss solar installation, and we spent a lot of time deciding on a suitable route for cables. I am certain that had the contractor had the option to access the school VR they could have better understood the particulars of this school. ? ?????????????????? ??????????????????????: Simulate emergency scenarios to enhance preparedness. It is early days, but I think this will be a benefit for safeguarding and evacuation purposes. In a few months, VR will enable me to view, interact with, and manage condition data and energy performance data with our ?????????????????? ???????? ?????????????????????????? (??????????, ???????? ?????????????? ???? ????????????!) And by this time next year, we will have streamlined our management of statutory testing and high-priority maintenance with our ??????-?????????? ???? ???????????????????? ?????????????????????????? with data analytics offering predictive maintenance insights, helping us proactively address infrastructure issues before they escalate.
