We often hear about the importance of using ��real-time�� hydraulic models, but AI and Machine Learning are unlocking powerful predictive capabilities that allow you to work ��ahead of real-time��. It��s a real boost in performance that can provide water managers with a more dynamic view of their systems. Autodesk Senior Director of Product Management and Engineering Keith Muller spoke to Waveney Metcalfe about Autodesk AI developments in water in the run-up to the World Water-Tech Innovation Summit in London. We're so happy with the enthusiastic and positive response to these new drainage design illustrations. They came out great. Our hope is that people will borrow these and use them in their own presentations to help promote sustainable features in their project work. We see the biggest adoption of these by our customers in the UK, which I suppose is why we often call them "SuDS" because of that regional nomenclature, but we would love to see a lot more uptake in the US, in particular. Whatever you call them - SuDS, LIDs, BMPs, WSUDs - they are a great alternative to pouring more concrete. Getting FEMA approval for your stormwater model is a must, but sometimes it can be unclear if FEMA will accept your tool of choice. Is it too risky for flood modelers to bring a new tool to the table? Trevor English digs into the topic to find out how ISG got their InfoWorks ICM models FEMA approved. One neat detail in this story that stood out: the idea of taxing properties on the amount of impervious surface on a lot, which is both more equitable and environmentally friendly. We're rolling out a new series of sustainable drainage illustrations on the One Water Blog. Why? One reason is because there aren't a lot of great images of these features out there in the wild, but there really needs to be. We all need to be thinking more sustainably, and drainage designers can help lead the charge by choosing sustainable options in their projects. To make it easier, Autodesk��s Tim Medearis and VAPAR's Michelle Aguilar teamed up at Autodesk University to show customers how AI/ML in Info360 Asset can assist in sewer pipeline condition assessment and management.
