OKC??Join us at one of our favorite hangouts as we relax and celebrate the arrival of Spring! We'll be designing our terracotta pots and planting seeds that will bloom into beautiful flowers! The best part? All you need to do is RSVP, and we'll take care of the supplies. https://ow.ly/KaSl50Vi3O2 Spring symbolizes starting fresh and starting over. Spring reawakens and brings rebirth, and we can always choose to do so with ourselves and our lives. Just like we need to nurture flowers for them to bloom, the more we nurture ourselves, the more we're able to bloom! If you feel you're alone, you're not! We're here to greet you with open arms, as you are because who you are is valid and deserves confirmation. We encourage this social to be for autistic/neurodivergent/disabled adults only so we can have a space that is ours, have autonomy, and unmask. Caregivers are encouraged to drop off and take respite for themselves during events. Socialization is good for your mental health and promotes wellness in numerous ways. Those with neurodivergence have a high risk of suicidality, and our socials aim to prevent that by providing a safe place where people can be themselves, make real connections, and feel seen.

There's still time to sign up for our first virtual social! Now more than ever, we need safe spaces where we can be who we are without fear of criticism. Our socials are programmed and led by our Marketing & Community Engagement Specialist Carley Marissa, who is autistic. This social will provide space for attendees to share a special interest, talk about what makes them, them, just observe or express yourself- whatever that means to you. https://ow.ly/JzHB50Vi3si

We're extremely grateful for the Masonic Charity Foundation of Oklahoma's support this year through a generous grant! The Masonic Charity Foundation of Oklahoma has long supported AFO’s mission, and this latest grant strengthens a partnership dedicated to creating a safer and more inclusive environment for autistic individuals and their families. With these funds, AFO can enhance its efforts in training emergency responders and healthcare workers, equipping them with the necessary tools to provide more effective, compassionate care to the autistic community.
