When Tania Garcia's daughter Valeria, age 6, was diagnosed with level 2 autism at just 2 years old, Tania found herself facing not only the challenges of parenting an autistic child but also the discovery that she, too, was on the spectrum. Now, with the help of the virtual Caregiver Skills Training (eCST) program, an 8-hour training course developed with support from Autism Speaks, Tania is helping her daughter learn and grow while overcoming her own uncertainty as a parent. National Disability Awareness Month may have ended in October, but our commitment to autism inclusivity in the workplace continues. ? John Frizzell is an acclaimed film and television composer known for his work with Mike Judge. During the pandemic, his deep dive into some of his longtime interests led him to seek an evaluation after which he was diagnosed with autism in 2021 at age 56. Like many adults who receive a late diagnosis, John's diagnosis offered clarity and understanding for many aspects of his life. ? Since then, John has become passionate about advocating for autistic inclusion in the workplace, especially in the entertainment industry.
