It was a true privilege to host the 2025 #StudentBusinessAward ceremony at the Austrian Embassy! ?? Since 2008, the German Executive Roundtable (GER) has partnered with the German International School Washington D.C. (GISW) to celebrate innovative student business projects through the "#Wirtschaftspreis." This award challenges students to develop creative business ideas and establish their own companies. This year’s first prize was awarded to "Amerigo Container Homes," a project tackling the housing shortage by creating affordable container homes from repurposed shipping containers. Economic Counsellor Georg Lack welcomed the guests at the Austrian Embassy. Students were also grateful to receive valuable business advice from Daniel Kroepfl, CEO of TELE Haase Steuerger?te. On March 3, 2025, Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen swore in a new Austrian Federal Government formed by the Austrian People’s Party (?VP), the Social Democratic Party (SP?) and the NEOS. This is the first time that Austria is governed by a three-party coalition. The new Government is led by Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker from the ?VP. Andreas Babler from the SP? was appointed Vice Chancellor. Beate Meinl-Reisinger from the NEOS was appointed Federal Minister for European and International Affairs.
