Australian Institute of Health & Safety ?????? ?????????????????? 2024 - ???? ?????? ??????????????????. Firstly, let me start by thanking the AIHS Vic Branch Committee for a fantastic Symposium. I learned a lot. Below are MY key takeaways. There was a lot of information. I am sure others took away from it what they did but these are my key takeaways. Julia Whitford started by discussing the SPARK Program. (BEST OHS tool in my opinion and I use it all the time). She also discussed the work that the AIHS has been doing with Standards Australia, Road Safety, Psychosocial Hazards, 2025 Sunshine Coast event and Aneta McCarthy was honored with being inducted into the AIHS Fellows. Very well deserved. Rikki Cairns from Bureau of Meteorology spoke next and the key takeaway from this awareness for me was raised when it comes to neurodivergent people and the use of hot desks. We need to stop this practice. Hot desks in general are a pain. There was one other takeaway, make sure you map out your incidents. Then we had Dominic Melling from Victorian Trades Hall Council - Key Takeaway - Ai Survellience may become a norm in the future so we need to start planning for it now. It will increase stress in some workers and as safety professionals we need to be able to alleviate this. The Panel discussion was up next and I learned so much from the panelist. Key takeaways - Business acumen, Organisational goals, Work Culture, Data knowledge, Soft skills - Relationship building and influence, Create new strategies but make sure they are simple, accessible and effective, build safety into your everyday, fix the micro issues, sell yourself! Be confident. There are so many more gold nuggets that I am still digesting....Like I said, so many good discussion points and information. Thank you all so much for sharing your knowledge. Simply Awesome!! Duncan Ledwich from WPS was one of the people I was really looking forward to listening too. His discussion on Climate Change and its relevance to ISO 45001 was amazing. I never considered what it would be like transferring workers from one zone to another even with a 2 degree change in weather what that would look like fatigue wise, but the key takeaway for ME - Don't ignore worse case scenarios. Use these as your drills. EY Team and there Workshop - Crafting compelling cases more aptly should have been titled - A master class on The Value Pyramid model as I am taking that golden information and using it immediately. And lastly was a fantastic presentation Nicola Hogan. Her discussion on Psychosocial and psychological Risk - bravo! So engaging, so informative and the key take away - Get buy in & empower your teams to help with any issues they may face. FANTASTIC DAY. Food - amazing and side note, Congratulations EY also for the tray they have in the woman's toilet. It is little things like this that show how caring a company can be. #aihs #safetyfirst #whs #ohs #knowledge #colleenrocksthemost

I will do a full write up review once I have digested everything. Until then, here are some more photos from today. #whs #aihsvicsymposium #safetyfirst #juliarocks #greatinfo
