On World Post Day, we’re urging all Australians to help protect our Posties ??With a 30% rise in Posties injured by third-party drivers, road safety is a top priority. Stewart’s story is a powerful reminder. In 2021, he was seriously injured when a vehicle failed to give way and hit his motorcycle. "I never saw him coming," he recalls. After months of rehab, Stewart is back on his feet but still works with restrictions to this day. His experience is not an isolated one - many of these incidents are caused by drivers speeding, distracted driving, and failing to give way—actions that can have a serious impact. While we’ve implemented safety measures, like installing telematics, keeping our roads safe is a team effort ?? Here are a few simple ways you can look out for your Postie: ?? Slow down at roundabouts ?? Use mirrors and check blind spots ??♂? Reverse slowly out of driveways and toot your horn ?? Give Posties some space; they often stop frequently and travel at lower speeds ?? Put your phone away while driving ??? As Stewart says, "If it saves just one life or major injury, it’s worthwhile." Together, we can make the roads safer and help Posties return home safely every day ?? Find out more: https://lnkd.in/gWpxXG3t

Inclusion at Australia Post is a responsibility of every team member, and this National Week Of Deaf People, we’re celebrating Rachelle Watson and her teammate Louie Santos for driving an initiative to make Auslan more accessible to all. ? Inspired by witnessing teammates communicating in sign, and her own experience with implementing it into her personal life to aid her child’s speech development, Rachelle developed a poster to be shared across Australia Post facilities to help educate team members in basic Auslan. It was co-designed with Louie. ? “It's important to know even just the basics to show inclusion, understanding and empathy towards our teammates who for a very long time have often felt left out and isolated. In addition to this, you just never know when or if you will ever have to use key sign in your personal life. It's a small step in the right direction and something that can pave the way for further growth and development” We currently have over 150 team members identifying as deaf or hard of hearing at Australia Post, and we love this initiative which will no doubt help to impact their experience working with us. #AusPostLife #NWDP #NationalWeekOfDeafPeople
