The mission of the Austin Sports Commission is to generate economic impact by attracting sporting events & meetings to the greater ATX area, thereby enhancing the quality of life for all residents. The Austin Sports Commission will strive to become a leader and clearinghouse for all youth and amateur sports interests throughout the region. We will seek to be the “go to” entity that represents area venues to all potential market segments and we will advocate in support of new venue development that may differentiate the area to these segments. We will become known as a valuable community organization that supports the quality of the visitor experience by offering a seamless experience for event organizers seeking destinations for their events that results in economic impact.

Here are the top highlights from the upcoming $1.6 billion project, "Unconventional ATX": ?? The world’s first zero-carbon-certified convention center ??? 620,000 square feet of total rentable space (550,000 interior + 70,000 outdoor), nearly doubling the size ?? Community focused design including vibrant public plazas, open-air terraces, and pedestrian-friendly pathways, creating greater accessibility and enhancing connectivity to surrounding districts ?? $17.7 million investment in public art showcasing local artists ??
