Helping people help pets. Through our innovative programs, Austin has become the longest running No-Kill city in the US.

Austin Pets Alive!'s mission is to make all of central Texas no-kill for companion animals. Austin Pets Alive! created programs to save the key demographics of pets that hadn’t been making it out of our municipal shelters alive. These key groups of animals included puppies with parvovirus, unweaned kittens, cats with ringworm, dogs and cats in need of additional behavioral support and/or additional medical attention. By developing comprehensive, innovative programs that targeted these key groups of animals and pulling directly from euthanasia lists, Austin Pets Alive! has saved more than 120,000 dogs and cats since 2008.

This summer we partnered with some incredible animal shelters for our Better Giving Through Pizza program. In Austin, we threw one of our first Puppy Pizza Parties to help adoptable dogs find their forever home. We're happy to report that Vina, Leonard, and Penny were all adopted! Wishing the pups and their new parents a lifetime of tail wags. Special thanks to Austin Pets Alive! for their partnership and willingness to help bring the iconic duo of pizza parties and pups to life.

Our sweet 9-year-old Bree has been with APA! for over three years, and we have watched her nose become powder-sugared over time. Thanks to a generous grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization, our clinic has been able to meet Bree’s needs from annual vaccines to dental surgery, and medication to ease her anxiety in the shelter. 75 HONORARY MASCOTS HAVE BEEN ADOPTED! We are fur-ever grateful for our partnership with Austin FC and the opportunity to spotlight our dogs at every home game since 2021.
