December is right around the corner and we’re getting into the Holiday spirit in Spark Shop Thinkery’s maker space. Recently I’ve been filling my time with theming our circuit activity. Guests can explore the world of circuits by connecting circuit blocks to power up lights, motors, or switches. It's a great way for families to work together, problem-solve, and experiment with electricity.

As we kick off fiscal year 2025, we want to honor and thank the incredible board members who have recently rolled off after years of dedicated service, as well as share some exciting updates. Thank you to John Antonelli, former Board President, who remains a champion for Thinkery as honorary chair of our capital campaign committee; Michelle Moore Smith, past Secretary, who was instrumental in finalizing Thinkery Del Valle and bringing ongoing support from Jackson Walker; and Karuna Annavajjala, who enriched our partnership with Silicon Labs and strengthened our DEIA initiatives and strategic planning. Your impact on Thinkery has been tremendous, and we’re deeply grateful. A special thank you to K.C. Barner, our most recent Past President, who continues to serve on the board. Your leadership has guided us through pivotal moments, and we’re thrilled to continue this journey together. We’re also excited to announce that Jonelle Bradshaw de Hernandez, PhD has stepped into the role of Board President, and we warmly welcome Benny Chang (not pictured) as our newest board member. With fresh perspectives and leadership, we look forward to an inspiring year ahead. Thank you to all our dedicated leaders, past and present. Here’s to a new year of growth and community at Thinkery!

This November, we celebrate Native American Heritage Month and honor the deep wisdom, resilience, and ingenuity of Indigenous communities. At Thinkery, we recognize the powerful role that Native American knowledge and traditions play in shaping fields from science to art, and we’re inspired by these contributions as we build inclusive learning experiences for every child. This month, let’s continue to explore and share the stories, values, and voices of Native communities, learning from a heritage that reminds us to care for our world and each other.
