Austere Environmental?had a great breakthrough over the weekend. Not only did we successfully extract Synthetic Oil from Synthetic-Based Muds (SBM), but we also improved our process of extracting the oil in about 25% less time. SBM aren't nearly as common as Diesel Based Muds, but Synthetic costs our customers more than twice as much as Diesel. Synethic Oil is becoming more in drilling muds, as it's more environmentally friendly.

Startups are a wild ride, but I always feel the best after a full day in the shop. Check out these results. We separate and capture 100% of the water and diesel in drill cuttings. This drill rig, using diesel-based mud, is throwing away almost $40,000 in diesel with their drill cuttings daily! We can recover it daily at an expense of $7,000, which is over 80% reduction in cost. There are almost 400 rigs doing this in the States today. Our treated soil is also less than 100ppm TPH, getting it clean! Austere Environmental, Inc. Receives State Grant to build Austere Remediation Unit Golden, CO – Austere Environmental, Inc. is pleased to announce it has been awarded an Early-Stage Capital and Retention grant through the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) Advanced Industries Accelerator program. This funding will help further the development of our Austere Remediation Units, which clean petroleum-contaminated waste streams. “Our remediation equipment eliminates the need to ship contaminated soil while recovering valuable petroleum for our clients. The additional funding will go towards equipment to build our first pilot plant.” said Dr. Curtis Purrington The Early-Stage Capital and Retention grant supports businesses commercializing innovative and disruptive technologies in the advanced industries that will be created or manufactured in Colorado. These grants help promote the growth and sustainability of advanced industries across the state by driving innovation and commercialization that move this vital part of the Colorado economy forward. Austere Environmental, Inc. was awarded $60,000 to build our pilot Austere Remediation Unit. These funds will go towards the construction of a 20-ton unit pilot plant. Capable of extracting petroleum and water from the soil. The soil generated is only 100ppm TPH, five times lower than the required TPH limits. This will allow Austere Environmental to generate revenue and demonstrate the benefits of our extraction technology to our customers. “Across the state, companies are rethinking existing technologies and inventing new ones within the advanced industries sector. Their success will create good-paying jobs in Colorado and has the potential to change lives across the state and beyond.
