Even though I retired from the Army, I love that I am still able to serve in a different capacity, thanks to the Association of the United States Army (AUSA). The transition from active duty to retirement can be challenging, but the AUSA Greater Augusta - Fort Eisenhower Chapter has provided a platform for me to continue contributing to the Army community. Through connection, education, and information-sharing, AUSA allows me to stay engaged and make a difference. Last night, I had the privilege of organizing an event that exemplified the power of continued service. We welcomed SGM (R) Eric Crist to speak with our Signal Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC) officers about leadership. This event was a testament to the value of bringing together a diverse group of leaders. We had attendees ranging from brand new officers at the beginning of their leadership journey to seasoned veterans with over 29 years of experience. The conversations that emerged from this gathering were both enlightening and inspiring. It’s moments like these that remind me why I am passionate about my continued service through AUSA. It's not just about staying connected to the Army; it's about fostering a community where leadership and learning thrive. This event was a great reminder of the powerful impact we can make, even in retirement, by bringing people together and sharing our collective wisdom. Shout out to Shena R.
